Vision Statement
The vision of the Cherokee Library Media Program is to support students on the R.O.A.D. to being Courageous Thinkers by providing quality materials, valuable lessons, and an environment where students are encouraged to curiously and critically think about information.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Cherokee Library Media Program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of information. Students' critical thinking skills will be encouraged. Students' curiosity will be invigorated. Staff will be empowered in a collaborative manner to support students' ethical use of information and excitement of learning. The Cherokee Library Media Program exists as the heart of our school.
Long-Term Goals
Students will be provided with an invigorating environment full of quality materials. This will be accomplished by improving the collection and updating the physical environment.
Students will be provided with valuable lessons that will inspire curiosity and critical thinking. This will be accomplished by creating and using a focused curriculum-map.
Students will be provided with information. This is in the form of books, ebooks, technology, and lessons.
Staff will be supported through collaboration. This will be accomplished by engaging in an open and ongoing discussion of how the Cherokee Library Media Program can empower staff in their lessons with their students.
