Muskogee Basketball Begins Postseason Play
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Postseason play tips off this week for Muskogee High School Girls and Boys Basketball with the OSSAA Class 6A Regional Tournament.
The Lady Roughers will take on Putnam City West today at 6 p.m. at Edmond Memorial High School. The Rougher boys will face Bixby at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 at Owasso High School.
With a win the girls would advance to the Regional Championship with tip time set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Edmond Memorial. The girls would face the winner of Edmond North and Enid.
With a victory the boys would face the winner of Owasso and Booker T. Washington in the Regional Championship at 7 p.m. at Owasso.
Tickets for the OSSAA Regional Girls Basketball Tournament will be sold at the gate. Tickets are $7 each for age kindergarten and up. OSSAA passes will be allowed until limits are reached. Each school will be limited to 200 tickets per school for the Girls Regional at Edmond Memorial. No students will be allowed to purchase tickets unless accompanied by an adult member of their family. No student sections will be allowed and OSSAA rules limit cheer squads to ten members on the floor.
Tickets for the OSSAA Regional Boys Basketball Tournament will be sold at the gate. Tickets are $7 each with OSSAA passes accepted for the card holder only. For Friday’s game Muskogee fans will sit downstairs while the upstairs seating has been designated for the visiting team fans for each contest.
Masks are required for everyone in attendance, including coaches, fans, and cheerleaders, at both the Girls and Boys Regional Tournaments. The OSSAA asks that everyone practices social distance by only sitting with their family. Per OSSAA rules, the gym will be cleared after each game.
The winner and runner-up of each regional advances to the Area Tournament scheduled for Thursday, March 4 for girls action and Friday, March 5 for boys contests.
