MPS to Extend Virtual Instruction through December 11
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Due to the impacts of current COVID-19 cases not only impacting Muskogee Public Schools personnel but also our community, MPS students will continue Virtual Learning December 7-11, 2020.
In-Person learning is scheduled to return on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020.
The district will continue meal service during this extended week of virtual instruction. Families must contact a site by 9 a.m. to reserve a meal to be picked up from 12:30-1:00 p.m. that day. Information regarding that service can be found at MuskogeePS.org.
Teachers will continue to work from home during this time frame. Teacher assistants will report to work along with maintenance, custodial, transportation, and child nutrition employees. Special Education teachers who are to provide in-person instruction to identified students will continue to do so.
Education Service Center personnel will operate on an A/B schedule with half of the staff working from home and the other half in the office on alternating days.
Fine Arts and in-season athletics will continue to practice.
As Muskogee County remains in a State of Emergency as declared by the County Commissioners in November, MPS encourages everyone to do their part in flattening the curve and the number of hospitalizations by social distancing, wearing a mask, and frequent washing of hands.
