MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Muskogee Public Schools Board of Education named the District Employee of the Year and May Employees of the Month during its regular scheduled meeting Tuesday evening.

Thea Speer, principal’s secretary at Creek Elementary, was named the Muskogee Public School 2018-2019 Employee of the Year. Firstar Bank donated a $200 gift card and Ruth Kelly Studio donated a family portrait to Ms. Speer.

Certified staff recognized were Rory Lynch, teacher at Muskogee High School, and Gena Whitaker, teacher at New Tech @ Cherokee Elementary.

Support personnel recognized were Alvinetta Brown from New Tech @ Cherokee Elementary and Tia Alexander from the Education Service Center.

Firstar Bank generously donated gift cards to the employee of the month recipients as a show of support for the outstanding work of the four individuals.
