New Tech at Cherokee Elementary Holds Science Fair
MUSKOGEE, Okla. – New Tech at Cherokee Elementary students began the first steps towards the Muskogee County Regional Science Fair with a school science fair last Thursday and Friday.
24 students in sixth grade entered the school science fair. Entries were judged by educators and former educators of Muskogee Public Schools with the top ten advancing to the regional science fair.
“Science fairs allow students to take science to a different level,” explained Annetta Custer, New Tech at Cherokee Elementary teacher. “They get to be the scientist and discover things with their own hands and hopefully it motivates them to want to get into the field of science. This was the first time that any of these students had a chance to do a science fair and I think they did a great job for the first time.”
